Maserati Quatrroporte Sport GT S
By Dave | February 17, 2009
Maserati have launched their new Quattroporte Sport GT S, and I’ve managed to get hold of a video that they have released – actually it’s not the best video in the world but it gives you an idea of what it’s like!
The Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S boasts:
V8 4.7 litre engine, with power increased to 323kW
New gearshift management software, with new features designed to increase driving enjoyment
Front and rear suspension system featuring single-rate dampers, stiffer springs and lower ride height
Sports exhaust controlled by pneumatic valves for a deep, throaty and captivating sound
Maserati have made the Quattroporte look more sporting and aggressive with a new black engine grille and new headlights which are have a metallic titanium finish and a black twin oval exhaust system at the rear. The side and rear shadow line is finished in black around the doors, with body coloured door handles.
The interior includes new M-design seats with perforated Alcantara and leather.
This has surely got to be one of the most desirable large sports saloons in the world? I’d love to take one across Europe to check it out!

I’d agree that it’s definitely a car I’d love to take on a jaunt across the continent. I suspect the fiery red specimen in the background of that video would be brilliant in the south and even more wonderful against a snowy backdrop somewhere in Sweden. I don’t know that I would want to own one, as the styling doesn’t sub-consciously connect the dots for me, but it would certainly be a grand tour in every sense of the word.

Hi Brian – really pleased you left a comment (good to meet you on Twitter by the way!)
The Quattroporte is getting a bit old now – it’s been out for a while – but I just love it. To think a) it’s a Maserati and b) the engine is made in the same factory as the Ferrari 599 (I’m pretty sure!), just makes it an irresistible car when compared to a BMW or Mercedes. I guess the Maserati appeals more to the heart than the brain – like most Italian cars!
I’ve got to admit I’ve always thought the front looks a bit odd – but the rear three quarter view I think is gorgeous.
If I could afford to run one as a family car I would – need to wait a while then!
